Up until now I have mostly passed on discussions about Options trading. For the average retirement portfolio using options as a main action is not usually recommended but, I ran across the below video by PBS which I thought was excellent. It discusses how they were invented by Profs. Black, Scholes and Merton. The total video lasts about an hour but is broken into 5 sections in case you cannot spend the entire time at one time. Even if you have no desire to use options, you need to be aware of a fund that may have it embedded within its holding.
